Blackstone Valley Sports Center
Blackstone Valley Sports Center is a regional destination for ice sports offering a place for public skating, hockey leagues and figure skating.

Pawtucket Country Club
Pawtucket Country Club is located next to Slater Park and offers an 18-hole golf course designed architect by Willie Park, Jr. The golf club has a long, storied history and remains one of the finest courses in the Greater Providence and Southeastern Massachusetts areas. The Pawtucket Country Club also has an Olympic sized swimming pool as well as banquet and dining facility that is popular for hosting local events and weddings.

Skateboard Park
Pawtucket has a state-of-the-art skateboard park at Jenks Junior High across the street from the Pawtucket Red Sox baseball stadium. This concrete paradise ignited a nationwide debate about how federal money should be spent. Without doubt, this is one of the most popular skate parks in RI and serves a huge population of skateboard enthusiasts. Thumbs up to Pawtucket for making this project happen so local youth have a place to exercise!

Historic Walking Tours
Pawtucket’s Downtown is a National Registered Historic District – walking tour 
The Preservation Society of Pawtucket also offers occasional historic walking tours of Pawtucket.

 

Slater Memorial Park
Slater Park is Pawtucket’s largest public park and has a variety of amenities and activities suitable for children, families and people of all ages. The park is situated along the Ten Mile River and offers an oasis of greenery, trees and meandering trails.
People travel from all over RI to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. Looff Carousel, Daggett Farm and a new dog park are among the attractions that make Slater Park so popular.

Daggett Farm
Daggett Farm offers fantastic picnic grounds, a retail plant nursery, a children’s zoo and snack venders. Daggett Farm offers seasonal programming throughout the year.

Enjoy a new dog park facility on the grounds of Slater Memorial Park. Let your dogs run free and socialize with other friendly dogs

Looff Carousel

  • The Looff Carousel was built in 1895, installed in the park in 1910 and restored in 1978. The carousel is generally open during the spring and summer. Check with the City of Pawtucket for hours of operation. The Slater Park Looff Carousel, adjacent to the Daggett House, is the oldest Looff “stander carousel” in the world.
  • The carousel was built by pioneer craftsman Charles I.D. Looff and was installed at Slater Park in 1910. It has 44 horses, 3 dogs (rare) , 1 lion, 1 camel, 1 giraffe, and 2 chariots.

Rhode Island Watercolor Society
Founded in 1896, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society is one of the oldest watercolor organizations in America. The society is located in a historic lakeside “boathouse” in Slater Memorial Park. The facility features an art gallery, library and studio space.

Experience nature and the peaceful tranquility of Slater Memorial Park. Every corner of the park offers scenic vistas perfect for the photographer, artist or any visitor.

Paddle Boats
In spring and summer, Swan Paddle Boats return to the pond at Slater Park, with a selection of swan and dragon boats.
