The Pawtucket Foundation has received a grant from the Rhode Island Life Sciences Hub (RILSH) to implement a Life Sciences Career Awareness Program designed to expand equitable access to Rhode Island’s growing life sciences industry.

The Life Sciences Career Awareness Program

Building Early Awareness, Providing Accessible Career Navigation Resources, and Fostering Direct Connections in the Life Sciences

The Life Science Career Awareness Program is designed to reach residents who have historically been disconnected from the life sciences industry. By combining neighborhood-level awareness, structured career learning, and trust-based community connections, the initiative strengthens Rhode Island’s life sciences talent pipeline while advancing equity and inclusion.

The program is designed as an on-ramp to the life sciences industry, serving high school students and 18+ hidden and middle-skill workers. LSCAP will meet residents where they are geographically, culturally, and educationally and provides clear, actionable pathways into training, education, and employment.
